I was so nervous on the first day of high school. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make any new friends, and spent a significant amount of time that day nervously staring at the floor. As fate would have it, I luckily looked up from the floor just long enough to introduce myself to this lovely lady, and I have had the pleasure of being her friend ever since.
Jenn and I were inseparable throughout high school, and would spend days at a time roaming the Garden State Plaza and eating cheese steaks. Some of our happiest memories were made at school dances and on beach trips to Belmar.
Jenn went up to Quinnipiac for college, and has lived in Connecticut since then. One of the things that I love most about my best friend is her courage. She is so brave to pack up and move to a new city, and she’ll always say yes to try something new, like a silks class or a kickball team. Although we no longer live close to each other, we pick up exactly where we've left off after going weeks without talking. We are kindred spirits, and even ended up pursuing the same profession. Jenn is a clinical social worker on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and lives with her handsome pup, Bentley. (She insists upon living in Connecticut, despite my best efforts to persuade her to move back home).
Jenn is a wonderfully warm and supportive friend. I’ve been telling Jenn since sophomore year that she would be my maid of honor some day. It’s kind of surreal that day is quickly approaching. I’m thrilled that she’ll be standing right next to me on September 26th!
